Kings Sweep Columbus Day Exeter Showcase

Oct. 7 - Exeter, NH. Coming off two wins last weekend, the Jr. Kings headed to Exeter for the IJHL Jr. Elite Showcase.

Continuing to build on teamwork, and strengthened by the return of Austin Orr, who had been out the first part of the season with a concussion, and newly signed players Stephen McGeary and Keith O’Connor, the team breezed by their competition. The Penalty Kill unit had yet another weekend without allowing any goals and Asst Captain Kevin LoGuidice had 8 points in 3 games. Veteran Kevin Donlan was still out with a back injury - Connor Widenmeyer and Zach Scott shared netminding duties. Defensemen Joe Gunerman, still not 100% after suffering a pulled hamstring 2 weeks ago, and Captain Ben Scott figured in heavily on scoring opportunities. Matt Tantillo continued to be a consistent contributor. The Kings defense of was solid, allowing only 22 shots the entire weekend, while the offense pounded the opposing goal tenders with a total of 133 shots.
