Jan. 6 - Springfield, MA.   The New Jersey Kings were the “team of the hour” this weekend, sailing past Exeter (6-1), Worcester (8-3) and Boston (12-2) at the IJHL Elite Showcase this weekend.  Kevin LoGuidice scored a hat trick in each game to extend his streak of 3 goal games to five league games.

Will DeFusco notched a pair of goals against Exeter,  Phil Vassilev had a pair of scores in a very physical Worcester game, Anton Rassadkin recorded his first hat trick of the season against Boston, and Al Leininger  scored his first league goal in the game against Boston. “It’s so gratifying to see our team improve from being merely competitive in the league early in the season to becoming a dominant member,” said coach Golczewski.

The Kings had 7 players nominated to play in the All-Star game, which was won by the Blue Squad they competed for:  Forwards Dan Kacerosky, Kevin LoGuidice, Will DeFusco, Houston Foster; Defensemen  Ben Scott and Vinnie Cervo; goaltender Zach Scott.  Will DeFusco and Kevin LoGuidice were named co- MVP’s of the game, with a goal and an assist each. Houston Foster and Ben Scott each had a point and Zach Scott was perfect in net for the period he played.
